    I prefer Lillian Joan.

    Something she can grow into.
    Perhaps calling her Lily.

    Lillianna Joan

one or two n's-- no preference. I just prefer longer names. They sound more timeless to me.

    be cool.

I like Lilliana Joan. To me, "Joanie" sounds like a nickname more than given name. I picked Lilliana because I think it is timeless and elegant, but probably a little less popular than Lily or even Lillian.

Are you pronouncing "Lilliana" and "Lillianna" the same way? I noticed you used both but I wasn't sure if that was just a spelling variation or a different pronunciation as well. When I see the first (one "n"), I think Lily-ahna. With the second, I think Lily-anna. I like the former (-ahna) better. But I think 2 Ls is better either way, because it is the way the names are traditionally spelled and I think she'd have to deal with fewer constant misspellings over the course of her lifetime.

On second thought, Lilliana Joan sounds like Indiana Jones. So I like Lillian better with that middle name.

I think the same thing. Dh is stuck on Lily or a variation and his aunt who passed away last year was Joan.
