    Question Safest infant car seats

    Advertisements
I thought I had seen a thread about this at one point in time, but I can't find it anywhere.

What are the safest car seats for infants? I've heard that Chicco and Graco are the safest, but I thought I would ask for your awesome ladies opinions!!

    TIA

According to Jamie, all car seats go through the same tests, so there isn't one car seat that is the safest since they all have to pass the same tests.

I'm sure she'd have more info about it though.

Car seat safety is a pass/fail deal. If they are on the market, they passed. When you shop for them, you shop for features.

All car seats must pass the same tests in order to be sold, like Sindorella said. We don't know WHICH seats are the safest bc they do not release that information to the public. The safest seat is one that fits your budget, your baby, your car and is used & installed properly 100% of the time

As for my experience, I've had chicco and graco and i like them both. I like chicco just a little bit more tho

Baby Trend was what fit for my baby best and what we preferred. If you Google BT, you will find all the info you need on it. As PP mentioned earlier, choose what you think will fit best your baby, your budget, your car, you.

Some skip the infant carseats all together and go with convertible.

What fits in your car and is easiest for you to carry with a watermelon in it. I took a watermelon to the BRU to carry around carriers. Worked great. Staff and DH thought I was nuts but helped give me the idea of how much I would be toting around.

We have a Britax Boulevard. If there's a next time I'd skip the infant carrier entirely and get a convertible car seat. We have an Altima and our Britax fits in there much better than my Graco Snugride did. That being said-I definitely liked our Graco infant car seat.

What a great idea! I didn't really shop around but that is an awesome idea! Might be using that one if we decide to buy a new infant seat.
