    Not finishing a bottle

    Advertisements
Matt takes about 4-6oz every 3 hours. For the past two days however, he will only consume 2-2.5oz every 3-4 hours. I'm worried that he is not getting enough. Although, he seems otherwise happy & content. Is this normal? Could it be a growth spurt causing him to not have an appetite?

I wouldn't worry about it. Babies go through stages of amounts they're eating. I didn't bottle feed so I really don't know about ounce intake but Wyatt definitely went through periods of time nursing less time/less frequent and then would bump it up again.

He could be coming OUT of the eating phase of a growth spurt. His appetite may just be gearing down. My girl have both had pretty big fluctuations in their appetites. Kalista went from eating 20oz a day to eating 30, then back own to 20 again. Right now she is at about 26. Kaia refuses to eat more than a few bites of anything. She just isn't hungry. It's totally normal. I wouldn't worry unless he was acting weird or he isn't growing!
