Help Could bananas be upsetting him?

    Advertisements
So we've begun solids, going strong for a few weeks now. NO issues, at all, with any of the veggies. Bananas were his first fruit and he is just a billion times fussier after eating them. No change in anything else, stools just a teeny bit thicker but no blood. I was always under the impression that bananas were one of the safer foods, in terms of allergies or irritation. Could they be causing the fussiness? I swear, he'll go down for a nap and wake up twenty minutes later SCREAMING like he's in pain. Blargh. I hope it's not the bananas...I kinda like banana baby food

I have read that bananas can make babies constipated, but then I have also seen them touted as a cure for constipation so who knows? Ask your health visitor (pfffshaaahaahaw!) or instead use your cunning and well-honed maternal instincts to decide if banana has a detrimental effect on your wee one. The nappies are a big clue.

Edit: I don't really give my little girl bananas just because it constipates her. She always has these rock hard BM as a result. That's her experience with bananas, though, some babies really do well on them.

I would think it could upset him. Maybe they gave him gas bubbles?

I'm thinking it's that. Poor little guy can't win between this and the teething.

LM gets really fussy and constipated with Banana's so we don't give them to her often. Also I have a friend whose husband is deathly allergic to banana's.
Seems as though he isn't reacting well to them.

Bananas can cause constipation and gas! There are several babies in my mommy group that can't eat them.
