Jump for Joy Our monitor came in!

Since we weren't planning on having a baby until this Wednesday, we didn't have our baby monitor. So Butterball has been sleeping in bed with us. It has confirmed what I already thought...bed sharing is NOT for us. It just makes us nervous, so we don't sleep as well as we could and the little guy will only sleep if we are holding him. my grandfather graciously offered to purchase our monitor (we have an Angelcare model), and it arrived today! Luckily, Cameron is an awesome sleeper in his crib (all his naps have been there to ensure that he got used to it) so it should be a seamless transition.

DH and I do like the baby snuggles, so we decided that sleeping with us will be a treat for all of us occasionally. I'm so excited to sprawl out tonight.

Having the bed to yourselves! Awesome!
In all seriousness, glad your new monitor came!

I made sure to buy the monitor myself because I will not be co-sleeping or having him in my bedroom. Oh no. My room!

I wasn't comfortable co-sleeping until Landon was about 6-8 weeks old. Scared me to death before then. That being said, if you can get his accustomed to sleeping in his own space now, more power to ya. I loved the ease of cosleeping since I was BFing every hour or so, but I'm having the hardest time breaking of him of it now. He wakes right up if I'm not in bed with him

It's so scary! I pulled the blanket up around me one night, and I woke up instantly. I pulled the blanket over his face. I burst into tears and felt like a horrible mom. I'm sooooo glad my instincts woke me up. He takes after me and loves sleeping, so he wakes up at midnight when DH and I go to bed (he goes to sleep around 10), then at 2 or 3 and then at 6:30 or 7. I hope he keeps this up.
