    Storing Breastmilk

    Advertisements
I have baby bullet storage containers for the future puree foods, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to store breastmilk? I've seen the disposable bags and I saw medella bottles are also used for storage, what have you used?...baby isn't due till September, but I was just thinking..

    Thanks in advance!

Bags are more sterile and will last longer. I prefer bags. Lanolin ones are my favorite

I used the bags, Lansinoh brand, and I loved them. Usually I'd just store them in the back of the freezer (they're good there up to 3 months).

You could use those, but the bags are easier because they lay flat and you can easly write on them

I used the Medela storage containers with my son and the bags with my girls all a matter of preference . I preferred the Medela because the had lids and I could pump right into them.

This is why I like the Medela storage system. You can pump into their bags also.

I'd go with the bags, myself.

I used silicon freezer trays for baby food to freeze my milk into 2ounce blocks and then put them into bags and froze it. That worked well as long as to squeezed out as much air as possible before sticking the bags in the freezer. The Lansinoh bags were messier to pour the milk into but much easier to get the air out of and they store much neater since you can lay them flat.

Bags are much easier. You can lay them flat and squeeze them thin for super easy and quick defrost.

I use medela bottles, and avent storage containers. The avent containers have strong blue tops. I'm clumsy and would spill when I used the medela bags. :-)
