    Question Driving After a C-Section?

    Advertisements
I am just wondering if you other c-section moms had any restrictions on driving afterward. I think someone had mentioned this but I can't find it!

I have a friend who was told not to drive, but my discharge papers don't mention it, and neither did any of my nurses/doctors. I do plan to ask someone when we're in for Belle's 2 week appointment, but just thought I'd find out your experiences.

    Thanks ladies!

No driving for 4-6 weeks they say. You had major abdominal surgery it will impair your reaction time more than you would think.

I had to get special clearance from my doc for driving due to PCS when yds was three weeks old.

I wasn't allowed to drive automatic for 4 weeks, standard for 6.

Uh, yeah... we're also PCSing when Belle will be 3 weeks old!

Luckily, it's only 2.5 hours away... I'm really wondering why nobody mentioned this to me when I was discharged!!!

I have a friend who offered. I just feel bad because I haven't seen her much since she threw me a shower last month and I hate to ask her for a favor. Lol. We've just both been busy and stuff. Wah.

I would call your doctor and ask, or if you have a 2 week PP appointment, ask then. My doctor said as long as I was healing well and felt well that I could drive once I hit 2 weeks PP. It would've been silly if they'd told me 6 weeks considering I was fully healed by 4 weeks PP.
