No BM and Morning Stuffy nose?

    Advertisements
I'm babysitting for my friend. She told me yesterday he was having trouble having a BM. Her Dr. said to give him a squirt of karo corn syrup in his formula. So we did twice, he had a really small BM and plenty of gas. He tries to go, he makes that face and clenches his body. But nothing. I thought for sure by morning something, nope. 5am dry as a whistle.

I fed him, changed him anyway, and he went back to bed. An hour and a half later he wakes me up because he's stuffy. So I propped him up on his boppy and he tried to poop again. She didn't pack as aspirator and he's only two months. He ate just fine at 5 and is back to sleep now.

I feel like I gave him a cold because he is stuffy now.

Give him a warm bath and let him sit in the warm water for a couple of min. Gently massage his little belly in circles clockwise. After the bath, lay him on his back and bicycle his legs gently.

Another thing that helped my baby girl (she is formula fed, as well) is a warm compress on her belly.

Good luck. Poor bebe, I hope he poos soon.

How old is he? For the stuffy nose you could sit in the bathroom with the shower running, the steam could help clear him up.

Do you have any access to this:

My daughter's Ped recommended the Saline Mist and it does help a lot. Also, try Emma's advice.

2 months, he's still not quite awake. Is two months old enough to do that? I think it would be fine but want to make sure

Ask your friend to grab this kit, as well.

Little Noses Stuffy Nose Kit - CVS pharmacy

    You are great temporary momma.
