    Help Cleaning car seats

    Advertisements
Ive been told you can only "clean" carseats with water so that you dont void the warranty. Well, while we were at Target DS had a massive blowout that leaked into his carseat. I want to wash it with soap, but I don't want to ruin the fire retardant (spelling?) stuff on there. What should I do?

Huh? Who said that it would void the warranty? The entire cover of the carseat should come off-- it's in the manual. They're usually machine washable. I washed all of the padding stuff before I used it.

Oh good. I'm glad it's just the straps. Silly me threw away the manual so I'm always scared of doing anything. Thank goodness I was just confused

Machine wash and let it air dry. Never wash the straps though.

Only sponge the straps with water and mild soap, if your car seat allows for it. Most covers are machine washable w/ mild soap. Some allow you to put them in the dryer and some want you to hang to dry. WHich car seat do you have?
