Help Should I move him? *img*

    Advertisements
DS fell asleep in his swing in a really awkward position. It looks like it hurts, so I want to move him. The only reason I am hesitant is because he has been ridiculously fussy since he got his vaccines on Monday and has barely slept. He literally hasn't slept more than 30 minutes straight today, but he is so content in his swing. I'm scared he's going to stop breathing or that he is going to hurt his neck. Should I risk waking him up and just move him?

See? That looks soo awkward/uncomfortable. It doesn't even look safe. His neck is turned kinda sideways, and he is pretty much slumped over. His face is all smushed up against the tray of the swing.

I know a lot of people would say let him sleep, if he's uncomfortable then he'll wake up. But, I move my kids when they fall asleep in those positions.

My girls slept in awkward ways to and I didn't move them until I thought they couldn't breath. My girls are perfectly fine but if you feel like you need to move him then do...only momma knows whats best for baby.

Maybe just try moving his head a bit rather than taking him out of there?

That being said, as the PP mentioned, if he were really uncomfortable he'd wake himself up, and from the view I'm getting in your pictures it looks like there's nothing blocking his nostrils or airway.

Okay, so I took the advice and tried to move his head... and he just put himself right back in the same position. His eyes are half open though, so I guess I don't have to worry about asphyxiation in his sleep.

Thanks for the help! My poor little baby is just a weirdo.

Yeah, Aubs has fallen asleep, like, face down on a pillow, but I just peek around and make sure that her nostrils are clear

Yeah I wouldn't have done anything. Naomi falls asleep in strange positions too. They are more flexible than us so normally doesn't bother them. I'm a big advocate for never wake a sleeping babe
