    Bathing

    Advertisements
I bathe my 4 month old maybe 2x a week sometimes 3. If he has an explosion I wash his butt off in the tub. But should I be bathing him more often? Some1 said to me that I shud wash him every night and how wud I like it if I only bathed 2x a week. THOUGHTS?

At that age, I only bathed Wyatt once a week unless he pooped everywhere. There's really no reason unless they're incredibly dirty at that age. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's better to do it only once a week because it can dry out their skin.... I can't remember where I saw that, though, probably on here

Now, Wyatt gets a bath about every other night because he gets DISGUSTING crawling everywhere and laying in the dog's beds and stuff.

With both of my babies at that age, I bathed them 3-4 times a week. Maybe every other day depending on what we did that day. I've always been told if you bathe babies too much, it dries out their skin.

So I'm not crazy seeing that about drying out their skin. I thought I had pulled that out of no where after I posted that because I couldn't remember where I had heard that

According to Mayo Clinic site and Baby Center once or twice a week is enough until they are crawling. Just was hands face and bottoms often.

The only difference would be if they are a baby who sweats a ;lot then then would need a bath more often.

Once a week is good until they are older and then 2/3 times a week unless they really get into something. Bathing too often will cause dry skin and can lead to more rashes. We bath Little Miss once a week right now.

I bathe her when she needs it. If she starts to look dirty, she gets a bath. If she is not dirty, she does not get a bath.
