    Vaginal stitches?

    Advertisements
So dh and I have checked often since DS was born for when my stitches will be dissolved. Well he looked tonight and I still have them. I googled and it said they should be dissolved in 10 days.

    It's been a month.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I had dissolvable stiches for my c-section that were supposed to do the same thing within 10 days. Occassionally some of them don't end up dissolving. At my 4 week PP check-up my doctor had to remove them for me.

A few people I know who have had stitches (not vaginal), have had them not dissolve. I'm not sure what they did about them though, probably called the Dr. So it does happen where they don't dissolve.

I'd say call your Dr./nurse hotline and ask them.

Well just because they didn't dissolve doesn't mean it isn't healed. My incision was completely healed, but they were still in there. That being said, I personally wouldn't risk until you got them removed.

I am sure it is healed lol but I'm ultra paranoid! Poor dh got his hopes up lol!! He has done some touching down there and it didn't hurt or anything but I'm scared for the big S!

I would definitely call your doctor. If they arent supposed to be there your body will start to try and get rid of them and an infection will occur.
