    Babies and water

How young did you expose your infant to a swimming pool or the ocean? Not baths, obviously they get those young, but when was the first pool/beach experience (actually IN the water) and how did baby respond?

Damien went in the water at the beach when he was first walking, so around a year. He thought it was cool, until he realized how cold it was. Then he turned hysterical.

Lyric goes to the beach a lot, but it is reallllly cold, so I won't let her in the water yet.

Aiden was around 5 or 6 months since he was born in Dec. He loved it as long as I held him, he would not sit in a float. My friend's baby I used to take care of was a couple months old the first time she took him to the pool. He was eh about it, spent more time sleeping obviously lol.

Braden was around a year cause we didn't have access to a pool or anything before that.

Noah will be around 8 months.

I'll be this thread. I wish I could bring Landon to the beach/pool now, but the pediatrician says babies can't be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods until they're 6 months old

I'm seriously going to cry if that's one of those "firm no" things.

I can't do 6 months without water. I will die.

It's been hard enough staying out of the sun for extended periods for the last 9 months.

Just protect their skin as much as possible.. Sun umbrellas, sun screen, hats... things of that nature. Don't go out for too long... moderation is key!

    It's killing me

I believe at our G2G huladangelo said she was bringing Wyatt in the water before that because her pediatrician gave her some special sunblock for him.

ODS started going into my parents pool when he was only about a month old. Never for long and not with the sun beating down. But yeah, my boys are water babies.
