    Detergent

    Advertisements
I know there have been a few threads on this over time, but since I wasn't specifically interested in cloth diaper detergents I figured I'd ask again. I want to start washing what I have.

I think I'm starting to nest

    Anyways...

All Free & Clear... good for regular old baby clothes?

    Any other recommended brands?

I know that usually scents and stuff are frowned upon, because they can irritate skin and what not.

Are there any softeners/dryer sheets that you ladies use? Or just forgo them altogether?

    Thanks for any info!

I used Dreft or All Baby for DD when she was a baby. I washed her clothes separate from ours as I think we used Tide Cold Water for our clothes at the time.

We've since switched to All Free and Clear for the entire family due to some skin allergies I have so I had planned on just using that for baby's clothes too this time around.

Oh, and I just used normal fabric softener for DD when she was a baby. We've since switched to Bounce sensitive skin dryer sheets without fragrance or anything and that's what I was planning on using for baby's clothes this time around. But I do plan on going to no dryer sheets/fabric softener or cloth diaper safe ones since I'll be going the cloth diaper route.

I've heard great things about Rockin Green for CDs, so that's what I'll be using. For her clothes, we'll be using All F&C or Dreft...not sure yet. Depends on what works better for her.

EDIT: We're also getting wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. Less residue

If I ever run out of detergent I had before I had this baby, I am going to just use the same detergent on everything. If the detergent can get pee and poo covered diapers clean, it can get regular clothes clean. I recommend Charlie's soap or Soap Nuts. I would not bother with the special "baby" detergents because some of those have been proven to actually irritate baby skin more than regular free and clear detergents.
