    101.8

Ok great mommy minds! toddler had a 102.8 fever last night. Got it down to 101.5 with tylenol and cold bath before he fell asleep for the night. woke up with morning hot, and with 101.8 fever. 2 hours after tylenol and cold bath fever is at 101.7 still! Usually those two things work and have brought down every fever he has ever had. Can i give him motrin inbetween tylenol dosings? I'm not one to run him off to the dr (only did that once cause you would think an 8lb weight would break a toddlers foot not just bruise it lol) About to get him some cold apple/water juice too.
oh and he's whiney! totally not like my kid, and he's cuddly, also not like my kid lol. No runny nose, no cough, eats like a champ!

I am not a mom and don't know if this is safe for babies (you might want to look it up) but I have read to bring don your internal temperature to put ice packs in the groin area and under the arms. I hope he feels better soon. Can you just call the doc and ask what you should do without bringing him in?

that is safe, though you will end up with a screaming kid lol I usually just do a cold wash cloth. Not as harsh and lets me hold it on him longer.

    |I just gave him some motron and he's down for a nap. :crossfingers it works!

I hope so. It's not fun being sick. How are you feeling? Was it you that I read thought you were going to come down with something?

A cold bath can sometimes make a fever worse. My mother was told not to do that. It can raise the core temperature because of shivering and such. I really don't know if that's true but I'm just putting that out there. Hopefully you can get the fever down. Poor kiddo.

It's not cold! Just not as warm as you would like. He actually acted the most normal in the bath

I have no idea if it's true I just know my mother was told that by a doc when I was little. That was after my mother had chucked me into a bath of cold water when I had a temp of 104. But yeah, you know what's best for your kiddo. I just read the cold bath part and remembered what the doc had told my mom. So I just put it out there. I think they meant like freezing cold though..enough that it'll make you shiver. I'm glad the bath made him feel a little better though. Hopefully you don't get whatever it is!

I'd be worried too. Is the motrin working yet or is it too soon? I hope it works/is working. Fevers are awful.
