    Noise or no noise?

Does/did your newborn go to sleep with some sort of background noise? If so, what? Was it easy for them to sleep when that noise wasn't available (ex: traveling)

We are planning on having Jack sleep in our room in a pack and play for at least the first few nights/week. We sleep with a fan on..for the noise. Just wondering if when I put him into his crib..do you think he would need that same type of noise?

my daughter sleeps with music and my son sleeps with white noise. we have always done this because when they slept in our room we didn't want them to wake up every time we moved and the noise blocked that out a little. Mine don't need it to sleep, but they do sleep better with it.

I know I sleep better when I have noise now. For so many years I didn't have noise, but when DH and I moved in together, he slept with a fan. Now I can't fall asleep without one!

Hunter had a bear that made womb sounds.

Zayne has a mobile that projects lights on the ceiling and plays music.

Are they ok if they have to fall asleep without that sound then? I just think of my SIL who has to have music practically blaring for her kids to sleep..it is SO annoying when we are at their house and all you hear is lullabies on the monitor. They won't fall asleep without the music either....and they are 2 and 4

We just make a crapload of noise all the time so that our babies can sleep through anything.

We don't have any specific noisemakers or music for them at bedtime though.

Both of my kids have always been able to sleep through..well, anything . I never ever cut down on any noise for them to sleep, that way they would be able to sleep anywhere. Number one prefers subtle sounds like music, electronics and number two could easily sleep with a train going through the room thanks to number one. She hates the quiet.

I'm thinking we will have something...just not sure if it will be a fan or soft music.

Keira had music playing every day until she was 9 months old. She now sleeps with nothing, and she does fine.
