    Constipated but no extra fluids

YDS has been constipated lately & we are adding extra water to his food but it isn't making a real difference. Any suggestions since he WILL NOT take a bottle or sippy cup?

What does he usually eat? It could be his diet. Lots of like apples or bananas could do it, or maybe he needs more fiber??

DD's pediatrician told me to mix a little Miralax powder in her food. I don't remember the exact measurement, but you could ask about it?

Neither of mine could handle rice cereal, stopped them up like a cork. They both did great with barley cereal. Strained prunes will add fiber, so will peaches and apricots. I wouldn't try powders or juices without asking his doctor, though.

Oh, and strained peas add fiber to the diet.

Prunes always worked for us as well.

Liam always had constipation issues, and his doc always recommended some juice, so we always gave him like 4 oz. of pear juice which always worked wonders. But since he's not taking a sippy or bottle, could you maybe mix some into some rice cereal?

I had to introduce more fiber into his diet so he eats the Fiber One bread and cereal instead of regular Cheerios. It's worked so far!

Try a little juice in a regular cup or from a spoon.

Prunes... but try just a little bit at first, maybe like half a serving... you don't want to overwhelm his little system and cause the opposite affect, so start with a little bit and then if it doesn't do anything try a little more. Good luck!
