Stop and think that there might be an easier way to do XYZ...or even that there MUST be? I sometimes wish I had a veteran mom following me around that could tell me whether product A, method B, or behavior C would XYZ = make my transition into parenthood easier. Not my mom, either, although she does want to tell me how she used to burp Michaela or that I should be giving her a bottle of water. She tries to help.

What I'm doing is working so far, but I have a god-awful way of learning things the hard way.

So, I suppose it merits asking: what was the greatest discovery/ies that you found made your life easier when you were adjusting to first-time parenthood?
