    Confused Crib bumpers...

    Advertisements
Ok, so, I know crib bumpers are a "no, no" these days.. but, ever since Kenley discovered that she could scoot around on her back and on her stomach we've been having problems with her in the crib...

Our crib meets all the standard safety requirements, but when she moves around at night, she manages to get her foot through the rails and scoots herself so far out that her chunky little thighs get stuck! If she's not doing that, she manages to scoot herself all the way to the top (or turn 90 degrees) and presses her head against the rails, sometimes so hard and for so long she has dents in her head (they eventually go away, but, still!)...

Is anyone else having an issue with their baby moving from the center of the crib, outward, upward, downward? And how do you prevent them from doing so? Since she is able to move herself, would if be safe to put a bumper in the crib to prevent her little legs from getting stuck and from her pushing her head against the wood???

All I've ever been told is that you shouldn't put them in the crib because the baby could roll over and suffocate...

I can't really tell from the pictures though, is it padded at all? I mean, the fact that she dents her head on the rails is really bothering me..

I used a bumper and now that I have taken it off dd gets her feet/legs stuck in the slats sometimes requiring me to untangle her in the middle of the night lol.
