    How soon..

After giving birth did you first ?
It has been two weeks since I had DD and I am really starting to crave it.
One doctor, the one who delivered dd, said that as soon as the bleeding stopped I could have sex/take a bath. But the doctor on base said to wait until after my six week appointment.

    How long did you wait?

Part of it has to do with my c section
But yes, at the base hospital they told me that because your cervix was dilated it takes up to six weeks for it to return to normal. And baths/sex can lead to infection.
BUT at the other hospital (where I actually delivered) they said it was because of my c section incision

All the paperwork/doctors said 6 weeks, with ODD it was 3 weeks, with YDD it was 2 weeks.

oh.. yeah, maybe bc of the csec. All drs need to agree on one thing! they told me it was okay to take baths, so ive been doing so.

I had to wait to take a bath until after my 6 week check up. They want you to wait because your scar is still fresh and healing and at least for me since I'm diabetic I heal at a slower rate. Plus they don't want you doing anything that could rupture your uterus (not saying a bath could but I know for me I was pretty sore to bend over and get up on my own for a little while).

As far as sex we waited until the 5 week mark. The reason they want you to wait until 6 weeks is so you won't become pregnant right away which is possible even though you just gave birth. So if you do have make sure to use condoms.

Ugh. It was 9 months after Emma was born before we had sex. But, he deployed 3 weeks after I gave birth...so not really by choice.

I don't think I touched exH for 8 weeks. But I had quite a few PP complications.

I would wait til after the 6 week appointment but I'm paranoid like that. I find that I start and stop spotting/bleeding for a while which makes it kind of hard to tell if it's really done.
