When did you start giving your baby cereal? Donyou think it helped baby sleep longer?

I wanted to wait till he was 5 months but I'm desperate right now. This is his thirds time up. He use to sleep through the night but hasn't in a month.
    What kind if good?

It doesn't really help them sleep longer. It's an old wives tale. Some people think it works, but it has never been proven to.
I don't give any solid food before 6 months. Happy Bellies is the brand I use.

I started it every once and awhile at 4 months, giving it to him in the morning. My doctor reccomended giving him cereal in his bottle to thicken up his formula because they thought he had reflux, which actually turned out to be a milk allergy. Took them 4 months to figure that one out... I don't think it made any difference in his sleeping patten. He's been sleeping through the night since 2 months.

To me, it sounds like he's going through a growth spurt. I know when my son is going through one, he's up atleast once a night to eat!

4 months with my daughter, 5 with my son. Not sure how old baby is but I would wait til at least 4 months or it can increase his risk of developing food allergies. I started with rice cereal but I've since learned that it would be better to start with a whole grain cereal--or better yet a food with more nutritional value. Let me find you a link....

Even though he was sleeping through the night then, he may need a while to adjust to the new time zone and living environment. I know it's frustrating and exhausting. My son didn't sleep through the night til he was over 1 so I feel your pain. He was only waking up 2-3 times until he was about 5 months old--then he started waking up every 45-60 minutes starting at about 2:30 a.m. I ended up cosleeping with him because of this because it was the only way to get some sleep!!

It's pretty common for them to go through phases like that .
