    Question Would you assume teething?

    Advertisements
Zayne has been a little more cranky than usual the past few weeks, but nothing terrible. Still playful. The past few days he had had a diaper rash and this evening has a fever. He's acting fine otherwise... he's walking around, playing and he's not lethargic. I just gave him some tylenol to see if that brings the fever down.

His fever is 101.5. He is 16 months, that doesn't warrent an emergency visit at this age right?

My pediatrician suggests I bring in DD if she had a fever above 100.4. (DD is only 7 weeks, so I have to watch her closer. ) However, DS is only a little older than your DS and recently went through about a week of grumpiness and a fever. I just made sure he ate, watched his stool and made sure he stayed hydrated as well as forced him to nap more. I would assume a little bug or perhaps teething and watch it closely.

I wouldn't take him to the ER if he is fine in every aspect besides the slight fever. Run your fingers along his gums back by where his molars are (suposed to be)... does it feel different? warm? How did he react to it?
Thats what I usually do when I am checking for teeth...

His temp has already dropped a degree since I gave him the tylenol, so I am happy with that right now .

Sounds like teething to me. I haven't gotten a break from teething since Silas started at 3 months. He cut his first tooth at 5 months and now has 14 teeth and he's 13 months old

That is what I would assume. Bella also only has 6 teeth and has been on the fussy side lately and I am sure she is working on a molar. Poor thing.
