    Bottle Feeding

    Advertisements
Ok, so maybe this is a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway. I am bottle feeding Charlee and have been giving her the bottles at room temperature because that was the way they were doing it while we were in the hospital. But do any of you heat bottles? Or is that just an outdated thing that isn't really recommended? I got a bottle warmer at my baby shower and haven't used it yet, but was curious about it.

I noticed that Adrian was always cranky and fussy after a heated bottle. So we left them at room temp.

We heat the bottles, just because Jordyn seems to not be so gassy and fussy after wards. But she does fine if the bottle is room temp if we are out and about.

we always did room temp but DD would drink it any way you gave it to her...hot, cold, room temp...she didn't care...she was just an all around piggy.

I think maybe I might try one warmed at bedtime just to see if she likes it that way. But so far she's done great with a room temperature bottle so I'll probably stick to that. That is unless she just really seems to love a heated bottle. Room temperature bottles are really easy to put together and the bottle warmer thing seems like it would be a bit of a hassle in the middle of the night.

we warm the breastmilk storage cylinders, not the bottle itself, because they are kept in the fridge. but they aren't really warm, just about room temp anyway. i got a bottle warmer to keep in her room, but only used it once or twice since i usually BF her at night. we usually just put them in a bowl of warm water if we give her a bottle during the day.
