I swear, I remember seeing this exact thread a long time ago.

I would probably just stick to his sizes. Hopefully people would be smart enough to get a gift receipt to put it in with the gift that way if you get multiples or something he doesn't need, you can return them.

I personally wouldn't do it, but I have no kids so I don't really know. Maybe we did things tacky in my family but my friends moms would always just ask what I wanted when they would RSVP to the party.

I would never do it but that's just me, also when they are that age it is pretty easy to guess their size, unless they are tiny or huge in which case people will just ask you KWIM

I would never do it myself. It comes across as a bit tacky to me if I was to get a card with a list or even just sizes.

Personally I would make a list, but I would not automatically include it in cards. If someone asked I could direct them to it, if not I have it for my own personal reference.
11 months down.... ??? months to go. Will it EVER end?!

Invitations to events are invitations to attend a party, not requests for gifts. They should never include mention of gifts. That is a breech of traditional rules of etiquette and chances are good that someone who gets that invite is going to think it is tacky.

We make lists for family members that ask for them. Most of them send gift cards. For friends, we just want them to come for the party, they don't need to bring gifts.
