boob pain?
is it normal for milk let down to be really painful? I don't think I have an infection or anything, but I keep feeling these pains through my boobs, mostly when my milk is letting down.
 Is this normal?? They aren't too swollen or red or lumpy... just painful when the milk comes down.

 any idea how long this will go on? the whole time I am breastfeeding or does it get better as the milk supply gets adjusted to meet baby's needs? everytime he starts feeding and sometimes just when I'm walking around the house and feel it let down, I jump a little bit because of the painful tingle feeling. I won't say it's excrutiating pain, but it definitely doesn't feel GOOD

I dont know if it will last the whole time your feeding because I stopped breastfeeding about 3 weeks after her birth...But it hurt that whole time for me!

Oh.... I remember that feeling!!! It hurt for me for the whole year I nursed.. Something funny about it though, when Jack would cry, it would make my milk come down.
And it got to the point where if I was at the grocery store, or a restraunt and someone else's baby would cry, it would make my milk come down. It would make my ears perk up, and my boobies would hurt.. I remember once I walked the isles in Fleet Farm looking for the crying baby because I thought he sounded "hungry".. |

 That is too funny  I know how you feel though. I went to the naval hospital peds clinic today and every time a baby cried, my dang boobs started hurting
