I'm so sad :( BM related

I had to take Gio today to the Dr. He has an ear infection and is coughing also cause of the drainage from the ear.
To make story short, after our gassy baby history and the Dr having tried to get me to try formula she today reconfirmed that she really think is time for me to wean him and having him have Pregestimil I think it is, she wrote Progistimi but I can't find anything with that name online so I'm guessing is Pegestimil? She says she says that everything (gassy problems, eczema) points to my breast milk The ones who have been following my threads about this know how hard I have tried to keep him on BM for the longest. Today when we weight him he has lost 2 oz from last time (about two weeks ago) I have this feeling that cause of the way I'm eating I'm not giving my baby the nutrients that he needs and this all might be my fault I feel like such a terrible mother right now I'm not eating as well cause it seems like everything bothers his tummy so I have stuck to eating lamb, turkey, rice, potato, carrots, oatmeal, chicken sometimes and things like that. I know my baby needs more than that! I just want the best for him and at this point I don't know what that is formula? sticking to breast feeding? me eating everything he should be getting even if he gets so gassy that it hurts him? I don't know I am 16lb under pre pregnancy it's not even funny I just called the LC and left a message, I would like to see what she has to say.

Do you feed him any solid foods? If it was ME, I'd supplement with baby foods and keep BFing..

Do you eat alot of dairy? He could be allergic to dairy, and all you need to do is cut it out of your diet so he doesn't get it anymore. Also check out kellymom.com , It is an AWESOME BF resource site. GL

    Poor little guy.
You are NOT a terrible mother. You are wonderful.
Can you try that formula and continue to breastfeed? I hope something works soon for you.

I posted exactly everything that I eat. I just don't eat anything else at all.
    No milk, no nothing.

Have you had him checked out by an allergy specialist?

Not a specialist. They did take blood and did an allergy test. He was fine, only mild allergy to cat's dander. She did mentioned today about probably getting him get check by a GI.

He could be allergic to soy which is harder to avoid if you don't know what you're looking for...My daughter has the milk/soy allergy and we didn't find out until she got really sick...BUT it is managible and there's a blog called MSPI Mama that has recipes and encourages mom's....she followed the diet and she allergy kid had BM up to a year....

I would get him checked by a GI first. To me it sounds like something more/different than a BM allergy.

The eczema could be the milk or it could be something completely different. His stomach issues and the eczema could be COMPLETELY unrelated. My 5 year old has severe eczema and it was severe as an infant even with him on nutramigen formula which is both lactose and soy free. He had bad reflux as well.
