Baby in crib while awake?
Bella is being quiet, but she's just sitting there in her crib. She has been fussy ALL morning, is it okay to leave her in there by herself awake? She seems more content then being out here with me.

I do it
![]() In the mornings, Aubriana wakes up and plays in her crib for a good 20 minutes before she starts crying for me. She doesn't try to climb out and she can't get to anything that will hurt her. She just sits and plays with her musical toys and she's happy. So I let her play in her crib for the 20 or so minutes until she starts crying for me. It makes her happy and it gives me time to get up, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, make coffee, etc. before I have to get her out of bed too.

If she is happy being in there alone then leave her. Sometimes if we are doing something that Johnnie can get hurt on we stick him in his crib with a few toys and he just plays while we do what needs to be done. It won't hurt them to be in there as long as it is not hours on hours.

Georgia doesn't sleep in her crib yet but I do let her chill in there for a little while. She loves watching her mobile light show.
![]() I just wouldn't leave her in there too long. |

Thanks. I felt like I was maybe being neglectful because she's definitely wide awake, but she's been crying nonstop and she's completely quiet and happy in there (for whatever reason).

Its a GOOD thing.
Wes often plays anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes in his crib before and after naps. It helps stretch out my "me" time (y'know - for housework, school work, etc LOL!) and if he's happy, then whats the problem? |
