    Birth Certificates

Do they mail them after they are born? were we suppose to get it at the hospital or do we go and request one? Where? I can't remember if I received a Birth Certificate for Giovanni in the mail or what. If I did I sure didn't put it where it's suppose to go!

As far as I remember we got a paper to use for DEERS too but they kept that and we didn't mail anything. I just can't remember right now I thought the mailing thing was for his SSC.

We have always had to go to the county health department to get ours.

The Hospital will do a statement for the SS card and a statement to get them enrolled in DEERS. Not a birth certificate. Cost us about $12 for it though.

Certified Birth Certificates are something you have to request from the city hall or health department etc. where the child was born. They don't send them to you . The SS card you can request right from the hospital and get it in the mail but not the BC.

We signed a paper at the hospital to have his SS card and his BC sent to us. We got it when he was about 3 weeks old.

Thank you!!! For some reason I was thinking about that last night and could not sleep thinking about it
I'm going to check their website and hopefully I can order one through the mail cause I sure do not want to go there.

Really? I've given birth at 3 different hospitals in 3 different states and never had the BC option .
