Question bathing baby & dry skin

    Advertisements
how often do you bath your infant? the doc said she only needed it a couple odf times a week. but other moms said they bath every day.

we've bathed her every other day, but her skin gets sooooooo dry after a bath. we have some organic infant lotion that seems to help, but am i bathing her too much if shes getting so dry?

We bathed every few days and then loaded the kids up with lotion right after, that always seemed to help the dry skin.
You have to remember that these little wee ones just came from a world filled with fluid to a world filled with dry....it's good for their skin to have a little break

I honestly think the only time I bathed more often was when they got sick, their puke smells bad

Realistically, unless they have a blowout or spit up all over themselves, you can probably bathe her every third day. I would try that and then lather her up like you have, see if it helps.

We bathe DD every night but only use soap and stuff every 3rd night. I wanted her to get into a routine that bath time meant bed time. So when it isn't a soap ngiht I just let her play in the water a bit. She loves water so it is fun.

The peeling skin is normal, remember...she was floating around in liquid for nine months . There are a lot of folds and creases around the ankels and wrists, so it is probably the vermix. It will all come off in its own time, don't pick at it or anything. Just keep her lotioned up and it should be fine.
