What time does your newborn sleep till?

If he/she is sleeping still around noon do you wake him/her up?

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with G being so coliky at night and only sleeping from morning to afternoon (usually finally falls asleep around 5:30am and sleeps till around 1pm)
I tried waking him up around 11am yesterday and keeping him awake all day yesterday and it didn't work at all, he still fell asleep around 5:30-6am
I don't know if he is still too baby to try putting him in a sleeping schedule

and he wasn't like that at all while in my belly. He was always sleeping at night in my belly.

I don't even know what to do I just need to be able to sleep at least a little bit.

definitley sounds a little like he has his days and nights mixed up. Mine usually wakes up for good around 8 am on the weekends, and 6:30-7 during the weekday (usually b/c I keep him up b/c I have to go to work). But he is also two months, they don't start really getting the hang of a schedule until about 6 weeks, trying before then usually just frustrates you. (in my experience anyways)

It does sound like he has his days and nights mixed up. Maybe you could try to sleep when he sleeps? I am not sure how you fix them from having it mixed up.

I never wake my LO if she is sleeping. Cause I learned the hard way and always end up regretting it.

Carter had his days and nights mixed up at first. What I did was wake him up every 2 hours during the day to feed him, and let him wake up on his own to feed at night. After a couple weeks he started being more awake during the day and more tired at night. He sleeps 9-10 now only waking up to eat once. Its worth trying!

ETA- once we got settled into our new house and could get a routine going, a bedtime routine made SUCH a difference. Every night we lay down and nurse with the lights off listening to a lullaby cd. Now he knows when hes being nursed laying down its time to fall asleep.

DD is on a good schedule now. She goes to sleep around 9PM, sleeps until 5ish, eats and goes back to sleep until about 7:30-8in the morning.
