    BF/Child-led weaning mamas

When did your little one start showing signs of weaning?

Kaia will be 9 months on the 16th and it's killing me. She's showing the same signs that Zoe did. Zoe was over a year old though. I'm all about letting her decide when she's ready to stop BFing but I still feel about it. She's cut out pretty much all of her day feedings by pushing away and BITING
and sticking to night time feedings.

Good heavens, I can not even remember.

We stopped at 18 months but I think around 13\14 months it went to just night time nursing. We would still nurse every once and while during the day.

We are at 10.5 months and Lillian has cut out most of her day time feedings. She nurses once or twice during daylight hours and then she'll nurse before bed. She rarely wakes at night anymore, thank goodness, but if she does, she usually nurses then too. But that's it.
    Needs work.

I just totally stopped two days ago. It's killing me too. Sometimes I just wanna snuggle up to him and let him BF, but I know we're done. He stopped most daytime feedings and was fussing through the ones that we were doing. So, we are done now... he was just over 10 months. I wasn't ready, I don't think.

WHY do I feel SO guilty about it. I felt the same with with Z but I think since Kaia is our last .. it just makes it worse. I spent most of yesterday about it

Yeah, it wasn't as hard for me when I knew we would have another baby. Just knowing it's the last time ever... makes it that much tougher. I KNOW for sure Chase is our last, so it was really hard making yet another "final" decision to let him wean. I did try to force it a little, thinking it was just a phase, but it just got to where he was obviously trying to wean. So, I get him to take a bottle or sippy here or there, but will be transitioning to milk next month.

Dont feel guilty! You did exactly what you are suppose to do. You allowed your daughter to make the decision of when she is ready. You are not forcing her to wean or taking it away. She is letting you know.

I know it is still hard though. Hang in there, Steph.

This was exactly the same as me - but Wes was only 8 1/2 months.
I am still so sad about it and he's nearly 11 months now.
I just wish we could've made it to a year.
Part of me feels like I failed him, even though I know logically I haven't.
