    BFeeding new borns

    How old is your baby?
How often do you feed him/her?
    How long/much is he/her eating?

I'm just trying to compare and see if I'm doing right.

Baby is 3 weeks old and I feed him every 2 hrs for about 45 minutes total (it used to take me over an hour ) and he is eating about 2oz.

It's been a while since I've had a newborn, but that sounds about right.

Sounds about right to me! Great job! You're doing awesome
Newborns need to be fed about every 2-3 hours. They will spend about 15-30mins per breast.

How do you know how many oz's he's getting?

With both girls they would eat about ever 1.5-2 hours & about 15 min. at the breast.

at that age my kiddo was every 45 minutes for 10-15 minutes, but your nursing pattern definitely sounds normal! as long as you are watching for his cues and he seems satisfied, you should be fine!

Same here. Paul is 4 months. Never nurses longer than 15 min. Power eater!
