Does he know that his Daddy isn't here?

DH is in the field as of yesterday. Matt was doing fine until last night. He normally wakes up once in the middle of the night. I'll go in there, put his paci in his mouth and he's back to sleep. Last night he woke up 5 times and then woke up for good an hour earlier than he has been. Is it possible that a 5 month old knows when their Dad isn't there? DH never gets up with him in the middle of the night but he does normally play with Matt before I get him ready for bed. DH not being here is the only thing that's different around here.

Alexis knows.. DH has been gone since Saturday night, and the other night, she woke up about 5 or 6 times at least before 5 AM. Every time she woke up, she called "dada", but would go back to sleep. I feel bad for her, cause she misses him and I can just tell that it's starting to get to her. DH did get to come home for about an hour last night to see her, and just long enough to feed her dinner and put her to bed, so we'll see how she does today.

I feel you, I'm there right now.

He probably does. Even when my kids were really little they acted different when daddy was gone.
