    Help Gassy Gassy Gassy

    Advertisements
At what point do you call the pediatrician? I feel like I've tried everything and I'm just not sure.

He went from Enfamil to Similac Isomil (both me and DH had to be on it when we were babies)

    I tried -
    slow nipples
    fast nipples
burping after every ounce (only to be puked on)
    giving him Mylicon
taking a 5 minute break in between ounces to burp him (he gets pissed at this)
    Rubbing his back
Putting him on his belly (helps a little bit)
Bending his legs up to his belly

He's not constipated...but he is super gassy. This is after 95% of every feeding.

I don't even know what I'd say to his pediatrician.

I feel like I can't even feed my own kid right now.

Jack was like that when I was bf'ing him right around the same time. And it wasn't just gas, it was BAD, like stink you out of a room and you swore it came from a grown adult! It lasted til he was probably 6-7 weeks and calmed down. I dunno if he just has something to do with that age period, I know at 6 weeks is where they are the worst for colicy symptoms.

Call the pediatrician's offices. I know I used to be able to talk to the nurse and get advice and if she felt it was a concern she'd schedule an appointment.

Tell her exactly what you've said here.

    (((big hugs for the baby)))

BTW... at what point do you call??

You call when you feel like you need their advice/help and have exhausted all ideas that you know.

Nicole was gassy on Enfamil and we switched to Good Start and it is gone for the most part.

Ya. That's why it's killing me. We can't get through a bottle without him screaming and crying of gas pains

I'd consider other formula's maybe. Similac and Infamil both sucked for my baby no matter what form it was. There are special formulas out there your doctor may recommend. Also try different bottles maybe.

em is on similiac isomil advance, and at first she was really gassy, and the doc said it was because her body was getting the old formula outta her system and it should go away in 2 weeks. i dk how long hes been on isomil, but its probably just his belly gettin the bad stuff out.do you swaddle him?
