    Birth Announcements

    Advertisements
did you do them? I found some that are really REALLY cool but cost an arm and a leg. (think $125) I'm a bit apprehensive on spending that kind of money when i'm not working for a while and a new baby. Plus with the use of a nifty computer program and a few photoshop edits I can make a really neat online booklet and send to 90% of everyone i'd send an announcement to anyway, and that is free.

So whatdya think? Are announcements a must or should I do the online thing?

We did some through JCPenney's and ordered the rest online at Shutterfly. Sams Club also does them really cheap.

I did announcements. A good friend of mine gifted me 25 of them, but her prices are more than reasonable. She's a member on here, too (mrs.bsquared). Her website is www.announcingjackandjill.com if you want to take a look. Here's the one she made for me, it matches the nursery bedding:

I didn't do them with my older kids but with this little girl I'm going to because we aren't near our family or friends. There are people in my husbands family that didn't even know we are expecting another child. I'm probably going to do something simple and cheap were I can just pick a background, some wording and add in my own picture.

If you get pictures done at Sears, you can add announcements as an option ($1 for each one sold in sets of 20)

    I did ours through Walgreens.com
I think I bought 50 or so, and it was fairly inexpensive.
