Question Another question - Breastfeeding and birth control?

Sooo, I've always heard that right after you have a baby, you're SUPER fertile. We want to wait a little while before TTCing again, so I want to get on birth control.

Will this screw up breastfeeding? My friend just had a baby in January, and once she finished her first pack and period, her boobs completely dried up and she can't breastfeed anymore. I reallllly don't want that to happen, but is that even common?

I meant to ask my midwife about it Wednesday, but I seriously wouldn't remember my head if it wasn't attached.

Is there a certain type of bc I should ask for? And any other breastfeeding tips? My mom had NO problems breastfeeding any of us (there are 3) and she was younger than I am now when she had me. I'm just so worried about not being able to.

I think you just need to go for progesterin only...mini pills, mirena iud, or depo provera shot. I think its estrogen that isn't compatible with breastfeeding

I went on the minipill at 15 months but before that condoms were our best option. It didn't dry up my milk but I wasn't his main source of nutrition at that point either. The sucky part was it made me get my first postpardum period, ugg!!! (the pill did)
