How many of these do I need?

    Advertisements
I'm trying to make sure I have everything I need for the baby so I'm needing the help from those experienced mommies out there.

How many of these should I have? or how often did you use these?

    Mittens
    receiving blankets
    blankets (fleece and others)
Crib sheets or play yard sheets
    hooded towel
    burp towels

Mittens- One pair should be enough
    receiving blankets- 4 or 5
blankets (fleece and others)- 2 or 3
Crib sheets or play yard sheets- as many as you can stock up on. Wyatt was always spitting up on them, or his diaper leaking.. sheets get dirty pretty fast, so the more you have, the less often you are washing sheets. I always layered ours. Mattress pad, sheet, mattress pad, sheet...etc. It was really helpful when W spit up in the night or his diaper leaked. That way I could just rip off the top layer instead of changing the bed.
hooded towel- we have about 4
burp towels- these I would also reccommend getting as many as possible. Again, less laundering. We used them for everything.

Mittens I didn't really use them. But if you want, I'd say maybe just one pack
receiving blanketsThese are good to swaddle the baby, so maybe like 5 or 6.
blankets (fleece and others)I started with 4 for Keiven, then just added from there. But he was born in Jan in MN, so it was super cold
Crib sheets or play yard sheets I'd say like 3, crib sheets, you can wash those if they wet!
    hooded towel like 3
    burp towels
    One pack?

    Good luck sweetie

Mittens-- I think we've always had one pair, but never really used them.
receiving blankets-- A LOT!! We went through a ton of blankets. Make sure to have some stretchy ones for swaddling!!
Crib sheets or play yard sheets-- Depends on how often you want to do laundry and how dirty they get. If your baby spits up a ton then I'd want 10, otherwise 4-5 is probably fine.
    hooded towel- We have 3
burp towels- We just use cloth diapers and probably a pack of 12 or so. Once we didn't need them as burp cloths any more, they make great dust rags!

Mittens: I suggest using socks instead they stay on alot better
receiving blankets: It depends I never really used them since DS didn't like being swaddled. So I would say two packs to be safe.
blankets (fleece and others): I use three fleece ones. One stays in his crib for bed time, one's in his playpen for naptime and one I leave either in his carset or in my car for when we go anywhere.
Crib sheets or play yard sheets: at least two sets of sheets so when you wash one you can put the other on.
hooded towel: around 4. I really like the thick ones because the thin towels don't get him dry enough. They get too wet too fast.
burp towels: ALOT you can never have too many of these. I have a week's worth.

Also make sure you have plenty of baby wash rags, again the thicker ones work better than the thin ones. Get alot of different types of pacifiers, you'll never know which one they like.

    Mittens-- Never used them
receiving blankets-- I have at leased 50, but we really only used 2-4 a day, and you can always do laundry(thats with twins too)
blankets (fleece and others)-- not many, we have 2 in the car, one for each girl and then 2 in their crib with them, but that wasn't until recently
Crib sheets or play yard sheets-- I have about 3-4 per girl. When they are really little they dont go through them as much as they do now that they are older. They are having more and more "oops!"
hooded towel-- 2 per baby (we have more but it really isn't needed)
burp towels -- none, we used receiving blankets.

Thanks!!! I sure do not want to be doing laundry everyday.
So I have one or two pairs of mittens right now I guess that's good.
    I have 8 receiving blankets
    About 3-4 hooded towels
I have 3 crib sheets and 2 play yard sheets.
I don't think I have burp clothes but I'm planning on making some, I sure will need to stock up these ones!
