    Question How long?

    Advertisements
We just came home from the hospital yesterday and I know things are new and are going to take time for adjustment etc, but how long did it take you to get into a routine? Even if it wasn't the greatest routine but just something where it didn't feel like you were just winging all the time?

about a month or two. If it makes you feel better, Matt's 3 months and we're on a pretty solid schedule. I get up with DH at 4:45 am to make him lunch and Matt wakes up at 5 to eat. He eats and then goes back to sleep for about two or so hours which is when I do all of my cleaning. He then gets up at 7 or 8 and we play until 9, then he eats and goes down for a two hour nap anywhere between 9 and 10 (which is when I workout). When he wakes up from his nap is when I change him into his day clothes. He eats again at 1. He'll alternate cat naps and playing between 1 and 4 and normally will want to nap again anywhere from 4 to 5 (bottle at 4 before nap). He gets up by 6:30 or else I wake him up. I purposely keep him up from 6:30 until 9 so he'll go to sleep. He has a full bottle at 8 and then 2 ounces before bedtime. Then it's into jammies and I rock and sing him to sleep. Then he's out until 5 am.

So he's only 3 months and we are fully on a schedule. Trust me, it gets way better.
