    Gas/pooping issues.

    Advertisements
I know they say that breastfed babies can go a few days without pooping, but that's not the norm for Jack. He's 5 weeks old and has always gone 5+ times a day. Since Sunday, he's pooped once yesterday morning and it was yellow, but just watery not seedy like normal. And his gas smells horrid! You would swear it was a grown man. Tonight the gas is really starting to bother him, gas drops are helping a bit. I haven't ate anything different, I dunno what's wrong?

Around that age they start to poop less. Maybe try some gripe water for the gas. That worked better for us than gas drops. Even if you haven't changed your diet it could still be something in it bothering him now.

gripe water didn't work for us. He is following along right on schedule.

it was right about 6 weeks when ellie went 4 days without pooping.. it was usually EVERY diaper change that she pooped, and then just nothing.

i havent tried anything for her gas yet, it seems to bother her but i never remember to pick anything up but i got some today.

usually, as soon as i start to worry about her not going, she goes a few hours later! LOL

My son had a colostomy bag from 3 weeks old until he was 6 months so I missed all that new born stuff...but with my daughter (shes two now) I tried a little bit of prune juice in water...give your bubs a little bit of that to get things running again...see how it goes

    NO TICKER NEEDED...HE'S HOME!!!

My son Jack all of a sudden started going once a week....normal.
    Gas smells worse than before....normal.
    Gas drops do NOT work.
Try to warm up (no longer than 35 sec) a flannel recieving blanket and wrap around his belly. It helps pass the gas.
