i can't figure out what is wrong with him!!! i tried feeding him, i checked his diaper, i changed him into something cooler, i reswaddled him, i walked around with him, i talked to him. i know...this is normal. i was just hoping for some sleep tonight...since dh can apparently sleep through just about anything. he's finally sleeping a little in the glider. i'm hoping i can move him into his bed soon!!! i am exhausted! 1 1/2 hours of sleep today is just not going to cut it!!! and my nipples are sore! tender sore. ugh

It's rough, but it's normal. My son is going on 16 months and still hasn't mastered the art of sleeping through the night and I've been doing this all by myself since he was two months old.... But I am told it gets better...

No, he won't necessarily sleep better after your milk comes in. He might though. Who knows?

The first few weeks is rough. Do you have some lansinoh for your nipples?

Charlie has actually slept pretty well from the beginning.. sorry We have to wake him for feedings. Right now we're at every 2 1/2 - 3 hours because of how small he is. He was 6lbs even at his dr appointment yesterday, so he's lost about 14 oz since birth. They didn't give us a discharge weight and we forgot to ask, so no idea if he's on the rise yet. We go back Monday to double check weight and jaundice (his levels were safe as of yesterday).

But it's possible that he'll do better after your milk comes in. How often are you nursing? Pretty constant? You should have your milk in the next day or two. Mine just came in last night. Is he fussy the whole time he is awake?
