    CD-ing Help

    Advertisements
I FINALLY got to order her cloth diapers. She has SUPER sensitive skin and I just can't stand her being in pain and the medicine the Dr. gave us does not help. It is a cream for burn victims. That is how bad her skin problem is. I had to put it on a credit card and I feel super bad for spending that much money but I know the long term will be less costs. Anyways here is what I ordered, is this all that I am going to need?

I ordered 6 Chinese Prefolds ( I didn't want to order alot to try out )

    3 different types of covers
    Bumkins Diaper Cover
    Bummis Super Brite Diaper Cover
    Bummis Super Whisper Wrap

1 Large - Plant Wise Wet Bag
    3- Snappi Diaper Fasteners

Any suggestions or advice because I have no idea about CD-ing. Even though I have made 600 CD-ing posts.

check out www.diaperpin.com to check out different folds. i would also get something like fuzzi bunz or bumgenius. the prefolds have a bit of a learning curve to them

eta: also that amount would mean a minimum of wash every day.

Honestly 6 prefolds are going to last you MAYBE half the day. With cloth you have to change a lot more often, especially with prefolds sense there is no stay dry liner between the diaper and the baby's bum. I always changed those as soon as I noticed they were wet....which can be quite often depending on the day.

I agree with the PP, look into buying some pocket diapers.

Thanks for the info. I just bought a few to see how it was going to be. I didn't know how many I actually needed. I may reorder some prefolds if I like CD-ing. I compared prices and it was cheaper for the prefolds than the AIO. I really wanted those but at 13-17 ish dollars a diaper I couldn't have bought many. I don't like the idea of her wearing someone elses diaper. I don't wear other peoples undies. Just the idea keeps me out.

The thing with re-using cloth diapers, is that with the rigorous wash cycle you get no poop/no germs to pass along. I prefer pre-folds and fitteds myself. To make a nice stay dry liner, get a half a yard to a full yard of polar fleece and cut it into rectangles. Keeps baby's bum nice and dry and SUPER cheap (you can get a yard of fleece at Walmart for $4). To make prefolds last over night look into some knitted or crocheted covers or longies (pants). They work great for my kids. Have fun, I LOVE CDing .

Ok, on this topic I am mostly ignorant. I understand the idea between attachment parenting.
I just don't understand where cloth diapers v. disposables come in?
    Any help here?
