    Advertisements
I have been breastfeeding for 8 1/2 months and had no problems. Now she has a tooth that has popped thru and she tearing me up. My boobs are SOOOO sore and I don't want to quit breast feeding her yet. Any suggestions on how to make her go easier????

Is she biting or is it just that the tooth is rubbing on you?

I breastfed all three of mine for close to 12 months each and all had teeth when I stopped. If any of them started biting, I would slide my pinky in and break suction and remove my breast. They would get very upset. I would tell them "no biting". For all three, I only had to do this a few times and they would realize that biting = no food.

    Good luck!

I havent experienced this with my daughter. She has bitten down with her gums, which hurts like hell. I just stop nursing her and tell her no. I have been nursing her for 11 1/2 months. She only has one tooth and hasnt bitten me with it yet. Good luck!

I breastfed until Miss K was a little over 23 months. Have you tried taking her off the breast, saying "no" firmly and then having her latch back on? Miss K tried the biting thing only a handful of times and that is all I needed to do to get her to stop.

I think it's more the way she is latching on than actually biting. I've dealt with her clamping down and I would pull her off tell her no and wait a few, but this different.

You could always try to see a lactation consultant at the local hospital or contact your local la leche league

So pull her off and let her get back on and see if it feels better?
