It took a lot of massaging but I was able to get some milk out while pumping. I got a little more than an oz. Is that normal? Doesn't seem like much but better than nothing.

Even when I let down right away I only get like 1 - 1 1/2 ounces. The only time I really get more than that is if I've given him a bottle of defrosted BM and am pumping in place of the feeding all together.

How many ounces are they taking in when you feed with a bottle? Is that enough for a feeding or do I have to pump a bunch of times to make enough for one bottle?

I usually have to pump twice to make enough for a bottle. Zayne just ate 4ozs from a bottle and I pumped... I only got 3ozs after pumping for more than 25 minutes

Babies tend to eat different amounts throughout the day. Lilly eats about 2-3oz of pumped breastmilk at 6 weeks. But all babies are different, some need less, some more.

ETA I only need to pump once, but I have an exorbitant amount of milk.
    Needs work.

Your boobs will get used to it. After a few months, I was pumping 6-8oz per boob. But that was after I conditioned my boobs for pumping.

Some women, also, are not able to pump much, period. Don't get discouraged though... the baby gets way more out of your boobs than the pump does!!
