    Pumping Question

    Advertisements
Does it take longer for your milk to let down when pumping? I was just sitting there for like 10 minutes and nothing happened..when Cris nurses he's done in 10 minutes. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong...

It does take longer for me too, but not usually 10 minutes!

I tried to pump once the other day and I got nothing. I couldn't figure it out either. There had been plenty of time since the feeding before but it just wouldn't work.
    Needs work.

yes. I was trying to pump for when Auriana is able to nurse (if ever) and my milk dried up even with me pumping every 3 hours since she was born. probably better off that was anyway since there's no way I'd have time to do it since she's home. It did always take me 10-15 minutes to get my milk to let down when pumping...
Katie- Mommy to Kylee 10-30-05 (loving big sister, Ms. independent, intelligent, princess) and Auriana 09-17-08 (miracle baby with down syndrome, heart defects, hearing impairment, digestive problems, tube fed since birth, but determined to succeed, strong, loving, happy)

Ask me about Congenital Heart Defects... 1 in 100, it could be your child...

Ask me about Down Syndrome... more common than you think...

Yesterday I pumped after I fed Zayne and I got very little, then nothing. I just kept the pump going and after like 10 or so minutes I let down all of the sudden and got more than an ounce out of each side in like 30 seconds. Zayne is a quick eater. He eats from both sides in 15 - 20 minutes... sometimes less. I am ussuming he is more effective then my Medala pump in style

ETA: When I pump I normally let down within 30 seconds of starting. After it seams like I am empty, if i keep going for a while (like 10 minutes or more).. I'll sometimes have like a second let down. I don't know if that's typical or not
