    When to pump?

    Advertisements
I'm sure this is here somewhere but I don't have much time to look. When is the best time to pump? I already make a lot of milk so would it be best to pump one boob while he eats on the other?

I usually pump after she finishes. But I can squeeze other pumpings out through the day where I know she won't nurse for awhile.
    Needs work.

I used to pump after I fed her. That way, I knew she was full. I also pumped at work.... so obviously she wasn't there.

The thing is I don't need my milk supply to increase anymore. He's a one sided eater... I dunno. Am I making this harder than it should be? lol

I have always heard you should pick a time to pump and pump at the same time everyday. Like, say he goes to bed at 9 pump at 10 or something.
This is my shrine to Bryanna... she rocks!!

When I do pump (which isn't often at all) I try to do it a little bit after he eats. He eats from both sides each feeding and I don't get a whole lot after. I guess I'm not making much

You're making plenty - he's growing just fine

Also, yes - I do recommend pumping at the same times every day... your boobs will get used to producing milk for those times, making pumping easier.

Well, if you don't want more milk, then after he eats, pump the other side.

Then, feed him on the side you pumped a few hours later... then vice versa.

If you're not back to work yet, maybe just work out 2x/day you can pump if you don't want a crazy over-supply.

    Yah he IS growing well

I want to start pumping at the same time at night or something to start freezing more milk.
