    Transitioning

    Advertisements
So dd's been cosleeping with us for the last few months because of teething and all of that but we are extremely ready to have her transition from our bed into her crib in her nursery. What are some tips to make it smoother besides stick to the same routine

For Jacob we stuck to our night time routine, put him in the crib awake and I always went and got him when he woke up between 2-4 am and put him back in bed with me. Now he goes to bed at 7:30 pm and sleeps all night long.

Ellie WAS in this great routine of going to bed at 8 then sleeping until 5:30... then coming back to bed and nursing/sleeping until it's time to wake up. Now, with teething, she's back to waking a couple times a night and wanting to nurse. I refuse to get her back in the habit of spending the whole night in our bed, though... so I will get up and comfort her at her crib, then put her back in there to sleep... and when she wakes up around 4:30 or 5:30, I bring her to bed with me. (gets ME more sleep)

We never truly co-slept. I did notice that she slept better once she got adjusted to sleeping in her own room though. We always stuck to our routine, and I think that really helped a lot. When she woke up in the mornings, I would bring her into our bed. Around 10 months or so she never wanted to sleep in our bed again. It was a little strange. Anytime she would come in there she just wanted to play. Good luck!
