so i've googled and read a few "ideas" on how to combat biting

however, i'd like to hear some personal tips and tricks. ellie has 2 teeth and BITES MY BOOBS at least twice per nursing session. i pull her off, say no firmly, and then let her latch again. the second time, i pull her off, say no firmly, and stop BFing her for the time being.

    IT HURTSSSS.

thats it Bex. Thats all you can do. Say no and if she persists, don't do it. does she smile when she does it? Dd used to laugh at me when I told her no. that was the first sign it was time to think about weaning.

If she bites, say no and don't let her latch on for awhile. That way, she learns not to bite if she wants to eat. Also, sometimes (I think) biting means she is just playing. Try to stop before hand. See if that will help.

    Good luck.

when my son would bite me, i'd say NO BITING! and he'd smile and then start crying. lol. i wouldn't let him latch on for like 5-10 min. i'd put him down on the floor or in his exersaucer and he'd cry because he was hungry. after that time was up, i'd pick him up and say, "let's try it again...nicely!" and he wouldn't bite me again. lol. had to do that about once or twice a day for a couple weeks before he stopped doing it at all.

Lily did it once. She bit so hard it made me bleed. I have a scar on my nipple from it. I was so shocked I put her on the floor and told her "NO BITING" and didn't let her finish nursing. It was so tramatic for her she wouldn't nurse for 2 days but she never bit again. I think she was around 9 or 10 months.

Personally, once my kid starts biting, it's nipple shields and pumping after that. I can't risk having scars. I wish I had some advice You are soooo amazing and you WILL be able to keep it up till a year, you just migfht have to get creative about it.

Wish I could help. Z only did it once. I just told her that we didn't bite because it hurts and removed her.
