    CDing TUT IMG heavy

Hey Mrs. Highfill this is for you and anyone else that wants to know just what all those different diapers are.

Ok from least user friendly to most user friendly. (all of these are easy but some are easier for Dad, Nana, babysitter to do KWIM?)

    Prefolds:

    Thirsties brand prefold

(this is just one style of fold)
Place the PF seam side down so that the seam will not be on babies tush. Fold the left side in.

Fold the right side on top of that.

    Make the "wings".

Lay baby on top of the wings.

Pull the front up and over, I tug out the sides a tiny bit to make pining easier. Then fold the top of the PF over so that it fits below the belly button.

Use your snappi or diaper pins to pin the diaper on.

Put on a cover. (or soaker, shorties, or longies, etc.)

    Fitteds:

    Sugar Britches brand fitted diaper.

This fitted comes in two pieces to allow for faster drying time. (in the dryer)

Lay the insert in the diaper. The insert is made of two pieces sewn together in the middle this allows you to add more absorbency in the front or or back if you have a boy or girl. You can fold it over and have three pieces in front or three in back or two by just laying it in the diaper as it is showen.

Lay the baby in the diaper pull the front up and snap to fit.

Cover with longies. (or a cover, soaker, shorties etc.) These are a newborn size recycled wool longies.

    Pockets:

    Rump a Rooz pocket diaper.

    Diaper and the insert.

The "pocket" that you "stuff" with the insert.

    Stuffing the pocket.

    Pocket is stuffed.

The pocket hole is in the top back of the diaper.

Put baby in diaper and fasten diaper with the velcro.

    All In Two's:

    Bottom Bumpers brand AI2.

Waterproof top layer and snap in absorbent layer. Top layer is fleece bottom layer is hemp.

    Snap in the absorbent layer.

Put baby on diaper pull up and snap in place.

    All In Ones:

    WAHM kit AIO

    Lay baby in diaper.

Pull up and velcro in place.

question: With the AIO's do you just wash the entire thing? If so, does any sort of "fecal matter" or pee get caught between the layers of material?

Yes, you wash the whole thing. No, once you are finished washing it all pee and poo is gone. Drying on the clothes line (sun light) or in the dryer (heat) kills the bacteria as well.

Thank you so much for posting those pics! That makes it so much more comprehensible! It does seem that CDing might be a little expensive to start. How do you know how many diapers, covers and prefolds or inserts to order?
