The medela bags are good and sturdy. They stay in the deep freeze just fine. Stick them in a gallon size ziplock for some added protection.
so i just pump into the bag and then stick it in the freezer?
What ever you do, don't use Medela freezer storage bottles. They're crap. I had to dump a ton of milk because of it.
nope don't have the storage bottles, just the bags for space sakes
Make sure you put the date and time you pumped on the bag so that you can use them in order.
yes, just pump directly into the bag. Its easier like that. You also expose your milk to less contaminants. You can pump into bottles and then store into bags if you want to. I just found it easier to go straight into bags.
are you building a stash for when you go back to school or what? when you freeze them, put them flat down on a box (like a lean cuisine or something) so that the milk evenly distributes and the package is flat. you can actually keep the bm for 3-6 months in a regular freezer, if you store it towards the back
I had bad luck freezing my BM by the time I really needed to use it, it had gone off.
