If one child should have chicken pox other parents allow their kids to be exposed of the virus so they can catch it as well.

I would need more info before I can make a decision on this.

At first glance it sounds kinda ridiculous

I think its a great idea- I hope to expose my kids while they are young so they get the lifetime immunity. We won't do the varicella vaccine until they are middle school aged if they somehow aren't exposed before then.

I might do it. My mom told me to do it with Reagan before we moved here when we thought a little boy had them......I dont know though.

Good idea to me. When my brother got the chicken pox my sisters and I all wanted it so we could have it at a young age. So we played with him and hugged and sure enough I got it lol. I'm so glad I got it when I was young so I could get it out of the way. It's really not a big deal although it does sound kinda wrong lol.

It's kinda scary and weird to think about it that way. I know it is better to have it as a child than a grown up but I don't think I could voluntary expose my child (when I have them) like that

I know it does sound pretty bad since you are trying to get your child sick. I can see why it is a good thing though and when I have kids and get the opportunity to let them catch it I will. Call me a bad parent I don't care because to me I'm being a good parent. I rather have them get it once when they are young and not have to worry about them getting it when they are older. I also don't like the chicken pox vaccine thing I would rather just have them catch it. That is just my opinion and of course you don't have to agree with me.

I I was exposed several times as a kid, and never got them... when they did the test before I was supposed to get the multi-phase vaccine, the doctors were perplexed... because for all the allergies and things I have had... I had natural immunity to Chicken Pox. Not common, but it does happen.

My mom was a nurse too, so we would have known if I got them... I just hope they were right, and I don't end up getting them later...

I'd probably do that if it were my kids... but that's just me.
